Disc Breaks with Llupa – 132 – ft. Karton – 2nd September 2010

Sep 2, 2010 | Uncategorised

This week on the Disc Breaks show I’m very pleased to bring you the biggest breakbeat act to come out of Australia in the last couple of years – Karton. I was lucky enough to interview Paul Beohm, one half of Karton, for NSB Radio and I’ll be playing that interview in full, talking about about how the guys met, how they work together and the release of their first full length album ‘For All Seasons’ coming very soon on Sound Of Habib. Following the interview I’ll be playing their latest promo mix for the last hour, which is chock full of their new stuff.
If you’re a fan of the show, chances are you’re a fan of Karton, so this show is one not to be missed.
Karton
“Karton are fast becoming the new Hybrid. No scrub that, they’re already there” – iDJ Magazine (January 2010)
As genres have risen only to fall, production duo Karton have developed and refined their own unique sound, which – while grounded by their love for all things breakbeat – is never limited by the constraints any single style of music provides. The variation in their production work and club sets illustrates that Karton don’t simply follow the crowd but rather craft a distinctive style as they continue to push their sound to new levels.
The duo have released numerous singles and remixes across the globe which have received club and radio support from the world’s top DJs and radio stations, including BBC Radio1, KissFM and Triple J. Karton have recently been nominated in the ‘Breakthrough Producer’ category for Breakspoll, the International Breakbeat Awards.
Karton’s first full-length studio album is now finished. Due to be released in the second half of 2010, ‘For All Seasons’ showcases the duo’s musical exploits for the dance floor and beyond.
